As the External Communications Officer, you will be instrumental in boosting the University's reputation through creative, engaging, and timely communications. Please note - this is a 12 month FTC.

Client Details Our client is a well-regarded University located in Surrey, offering hybrid working and the chance to join a collaborative and fantastic team!

Description As the External Communications Officer you will have the following responsibilities: Actively seek opportunities to highlight the University's top-tier research, education, and experiences through international media coverage. Build media relationships and plan and execute creative communications campaigns. Produce engaging content for use in external communications activity, as well as across the University's owned channels. Deliver effective response services to a wide range of reactive media enquiries. Please note this is not an exhaustive list.

Profile The successful External Communications Officer will have/be: Demonstrable experience within a similar communications/media role - ideally gained from working in a reactive and proactive press office or comms agency. A creative, proactive and excellent communicator skilled at taking complex ideas and turning them into engaging media stories. The ability to manage opportunities from idea, through to development to conclusion. The ability to recognise how stories can be creatively crafted for different channels and audiences. Strong organisational skills. Ability to manage time effectively and work to tight deadlines.

Job Offer 12 month Fixed Term Contract. Salary banding - £33,521 to £39,058 per annum. Generous annual leave, training & development opportunities, pension scheme, free parking and various schemes (such as Cycle to Work, Season Ticket Loans etc). Egham based - with flexible working. Please note - interviews will be taking place in January 2025.
