Edge Hill University, Faculty of Health, Social Care & Medicine is seeking to engage an External Examiner for the Non-Medical Prescribing (NMP) Programme to commence from Academic Year 2025-2026: Programme: Non-Medical Prescribing (CPD3904/CPD4904/CPD4905) Vacancy Ref: MED11 Closing Date: 17th January 2025 External Examiners are typically placed on the Edge Hill University External Examiners Register for a period of four years. Principal duties normally include: Visit the University at least once a year Review and approve examination papers that contribute to a student’s final award, and any other assessment material as agreed Review samples of work that have been marked and internally moderated Attend module assessment boards Produce an Annual External Examiners Report The NMP programme involves a variety of assessments; therefore, experience in developing assessments and assessing student work is essential. Applicants need to be currently employed as a lecturer on an NMP programme, at least a fellow of HEA, and have an Independent and Supplementary Non-Medical Prescribing qualification annotated on their professional register. This must be demonstrated with the CV. If you would like to discuss specific information relating to the programmes and more detail regarding the role, please contact: External examiners are paid an annual fee of approximately £620.31 (inclusive of holiday pay) based on the time allocations defined below, plus reimbursement of expenses, as appropriate. Total fees may vary slightly depending on the size of the provision covered by an External Examiner. The production and submission of the annual report is paid at a higher rate of £200 for the full 7.5 hours of work. All fees are claimed through the claim form/online system when work is completed throughout the academic year. Activity
