Those huge small victories

We are the highest Ofsted-rated provider in the country for special education and care. Our teams are fulfilled by the idea of making even the smallest positive changes in our young people, so we celebrate the little things. For children with complex needs, the level of care and education we provide must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us here at Witherslack Group.

Get out what you put in

We are seeking an experienced External Reviewer to assess the quality and compliance of our children's homes and residential provision within our schools. The role involves conducting commissioned reviews at regular intervals, with the expectation of five days of work per visit: two days onsite and up to three days for research and report writing. As an External Reviewer for Witherslack Group, you will play a vital role supporting us in maintaining the highest standards of care by providing an independent evaluation of our homes.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing structured reports from each visit.

Offering advice and guidance for improvement.

Ensuring our homes meet and maintain current quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Identifying specific actions required for improvement within each report.

Attending quarterly planning meetings to discuss review activities and feedback on emerging themes.

Staying up-to-date with compliance, industry regulations, sector legislation, and government guidance.

Fostering strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the quality of care we provide to vulnerable children and young people.

Bring your whole self to work

Here at Witherslack Group, we celebrate everyone’s differences as that’s what makes us the best at what we do. Our young people come from all walks of life, diverse backgrounds and with different needs – and our workforce reflects that diversity, so that our teams can engage, encourage and inspire our young people to be themselves. Here’s what we need from you:

Knowledge and experience of conducting regulatory work activities within social care.

Understanding of Children’s homes and Residential special schools.

Previous Social Care Ofsted Inspector experience.

Social work degree or an equivalent professional social work qualification (for example, a CQSW or DIPSW)

OR

OR

Level 5 professional qualification (or higher) in Health and Social Care.
