obp Motorsport are looking for an experienced Fabrication Manager to join our team! FOUNDED IN 2007, OBP MOTORSPORT HAS BECOME A HOUSEHOLD NAME IN THE MOTORSPORT AND PERFORMANCE INDUSTRY. THROUGHOUT THE YEARS WE HAVE BEEN RENOWNED FOR OUR PEDAL SYSTEMS, HYDRAULIC HANDBRAKES AND HANDCRAFTED FABRICATION WORK. BASED IN CAMBRIDGESHIRE, UK, WE ARE AT THE HEART OF THE INNOVATION CORRIDOR AND WORLD FAMOUS MOTORSPORT VALLEY. Responsibilities: Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of the fabrication department. Monitor staff performance closely and provide clear, analytical feedback. Plan, organise, and schedule production tasks to meet project deadlines and customer requirements. Oversee the fabrication process from start to finish, ensuring quality standards are met. Identify and implement measures to reduce waste/costs, improve efficiency without compromising quality and enhance overall productivity. Monitor and optimise workflow, implementing process improvements where necessary. Ensure that all workshop machinery and tools are properly maintained and serviced to maintain optimal performance. Manage a small team of engineers, providing leadership and guidance to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of the team. Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and procurement, to ensure smooth coordination and execution of projects. Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations. Monitor and control fabrication costs, utilising resources efficiently to meet budget targets. Requirements: Proven experience as a Fabrication Manager or similar role in the manufacturing industry. At least 4 years of experience in sheet metal fabrication. In-depth knowledge of fabrication machinery, including brake presses, hydraulic punch, guillotine & processes. In-depth knowledge of engineering drawings. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with quality control principles and ISO standards.
