Pertemps are seeking a Fabricator to join a manufacturing company based in Kidderminster. Working on a temporary to permanent basis, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for manufacturing and a desire to grow within the team. The successful candidate will enjoy creating metal products by cutting, shaping, joining, and finishing the metal.
The Duties of a Fabricator: Precisely positioning and adjusting various parts of a product during the manufacturing process. Ensuring components are correctly oriented and situated relative to each other. Guaranteeing the final assembly functions properly and meets design specifications. Using specialised tools and techniques to achieve precise alignment. Aligning components based on reference points or datum features. Shaping, forming, and joining pieces using tools aligned to these processes. Welding using Mig / Tig. Preparing materials for welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal. Providing feedback on the fabrication process - creation of SOPs. Verifying conformance of workpieces to specifications.
The Requirements of a Fabricator: Minimum Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fabrication, or equivalent. Strong dexterity, accuracy, mechanical, and welding skills. Able to create products from detailed drawings for metal components in sheet metal fabrication. Able to read and understand technical drawings and specifications to determine welding parameters and project requirements. Must adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
