Job summary To work within the Secure Division Facilities Stores Department that is inclusive of the Central Stores, Patients Possessions, Linen bank, Provision Stores, Mailroom as required.The post holder will be expected to contribute to the provision of a quality storage provision for Secure Division Services, which will include maintaining an accurate record of the storage, receipt, and distribution of goods for Secure Division Services.Duties will include receipting all goods received for Secure Division & the wider Trust as well as the processing and checking compliance with the security requirements required of Secure Services. Main duties of the job To work as members of a team, carrying out tasks as allocated and prioritized. To participate in training, including Mandatory training as required by Mersey Care To adhere to and follow Trust and departmental procedures, relating to all Stores, Patient Possessions and Mailroom activity, entering and using Data and inputting information into the PACIS and E-Financial system. The post holder is expected to carry out tasks assigned to them, considering the Security and Health and Safety of all parties including colleagues from with in their own department and those within Secure Division Services. Such duties to support this may include entering data into computers using various systems. To receipt patient's goods received in the Patients Property Department & HS Mailroom across the Secure Division. Deliveries of property - To all RSU's, HMP's, ex-patients and patients' relatives throughout the country also contact with internal & external sources , police, prisons, social workers and complete x-raying and/or security checks, in line with Tilt recommendations, of all goods to be delivered into the secure area of Ashworth Hospital & the rest of the secure division. Check, note and raise awareness of any illegal or restricted items, such as weapons, explosives, drugs etc, with line manager. Investigate any suspicious items in line with departmental and hospital procedures. Job description Job responsibilities Thorough search and investigation of new patient admissions property & discharge, reporting on our findings to security and inputting all relevant data for all other departments to access. Compiling and supplying evidence for the Type Approval Committee meetings. Drive a forklift truck and operate mechanical handling equipment, as trained. Understand risk management for equipment employed within the department andupdate training as necessary. Electrical PAT equipment - Portable Appliance Testing on all patients electrical goods. Tocomply with all security and fire procedures appertaining to the designatedworkplace,To maintain a thorough working knowledge and practice of policies and procedures associated with Patients Possessions and associated policies across the report all defects to equipment and the environment to your line comply with COSHH and all other Health and Safety procedures relating to patients possessions management. A requirement to have multidiscipline, cross functional and flexible approachregarding the requirement to work in other areas as an FM Assistant within the Secure Division as required.Patients property checks - with the patient present in the Exchange and at ward level, liaising with a multi-disciplinary evidence bag The correct use of and safe storage, avoiding any cross contamination of any possession or evidence found within a patients possessions.Policing the PACIS System, - amending inaccuracies on all non departmental staff inputting on the PACIS system and also reporting none approved items that have entered the hospital via other departments and supplying the evidence to the Security Intelligence. Person Specification Qualifications Essential Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent. Safe use of a forklift truck, or willing to receive such training equivalent to NVQ Level 2. Must have worked in a Stores / Receipt & Distribution and/or Office type environment or prepared to be trained and developed as such Desirable Evidence of Stores and/or Office related course certificate / attendance. Current certificate or evidence of training Experience of high secure or similar environment. PAT Certificate - (equivalent to NVQ Level 3). ECDL Certified KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE Essential Stores. Receipt and distribution process. Stock control Desirable Experience of working in facilities management role. Skills Essential Ability to carry out manual and driving tasks, function as a member of a team and support the management objectives of the department and Trust. Able to use a computer for data entry and simple data processing and communication tasks. Able to use a phone and deal with telephonic requests from service users, managers and staff in a friendly and helpful way. Desirable Excellent organisational skills to co-ordinate & prioritise deliveries, distribution, and receipting. Patients Possessions with accurate recording and distribution of New Admission and Transferred Patients Property Working knowledge/understanding of PACIS or other similar electronic administration software.
