Responsibilities

Oversee the development and upkeep of a world-class quantum computing facility Ensure the smooth and efficient daily operation of laboratories and office spaces Take a leading role in enhancing workplace experience by creating a welcoming and inspiring environment Be the go-to-person for all day-to-day office and facility issues, ensuring the workplace remains tidy, comfortable and optimised to support our team's best work Coordinate building maintenance and ensure systems operate efficiently, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing Manage lab and office services, including procurement and purchasing of essential supplies Establish and manage service contracts (e.g., technical services, cleaning, alarms, lift maintenance, and utilities) Maintain and enhance workplace safety by supporting the implementation of health and safety protocols, such as fire safety, hazardous materials handling, and first aid training Collaborate with internal teams to maintain safe laboratory environments, including monitoring compliance with best practices for handling gases and other laboratory materials Proactively identify and address facility improvement opportunities, maintaining a strong attention to detail Ensure compliance with facility management best practices, including aspects of workplace safety, and adhere to relevant regulations Partner with internal teams to facilitate office moves, expansions, and other facility-related projects Requirements

Proven experience in facility management with a track record of addressing challenges and delivering practical, effective solutions for complex systems and infrastructure Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment Ability to support and influence a culture of safety within a dynamic laboratory and office environment Must-Have Skills

Empathetic and collaborative team member, committed to creating a welcoming and safe workplace environment Technical expertise in managing and maintaining complex facilities, with an appreciation for laboratory health and safety considerations Hands-on problem solver who enjoys tackling challenges directly Ability to commute to Haywards Heath (or willingness to relocate) with a high on-site presence Passion for building and optimizing workplace environments A thoughtful approach to health and safety regulations and procedures, with an interest in maintaining high standards in laboratory-specific environments Outstanding organizational and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience partnering with People & Culture teams to enhance office environments and foster team cohesion Familiarity with sustainable building practices or workplace sustainability initiatives Experience supporting laboratory health and safety processes, including handling hazardous materials or compliance monitoring Benefits
