We are on the lookout for a

Facilities/Maintenance Manager

to join a very well-established company based in Ware.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the buildings and their services meet the needs of the people that work in them. This includes managing building maintenance, safety, and security, as well as coordinating with external contractors and service providers.

Duties Include

Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures. Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and repairs of facilities and equipment. Perform due diligence on service providers to ensure best service & contract terms. Manage existing contractors & service providers. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Coordinate with external contractors, completing RAMS and ensuring they comply with UK regulations & standards. Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address maintenance needs. Conduct regular risk assessments & safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards alongside the H&S Manager. Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment warranties. Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly. Assist with energy-saving measures and sustainability initiatives. Co-ordinate with the purchasing department to maintain & manage sufficient stocks of equipment and janitorial supplies. Manage and supervise maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Liaise between departments, prioritising urgent items.

Job related skills:

Proven experience as a Facilities/Maintenance Manager or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical. Excellent organizational and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to build effective relationships. Self-motivated with the ability to show initiative. Ability to balance priorities, work well under pressure, time manage and work to tight deadlines.

Hours: Mon - Fri - 9 - 5 (must be flexible if the job requires)
