Stone Valley Lodge Ltd runs the brand new, state-of-the-art Rugby Club building & grounds on behalf of Dartford Valley Rugby Club. As a growing community facility, we have strong demand for lettings, functions, daily & evening use of the facility. We are therefore hiring in advance of this scheduled demand. Shift Supervisor Immediate Start Salary From £13ph rising to £13.50ph for the right candidate after successful probation period. Hours 37.5 hrs per week 5 days out of 7 depending including evenings and weekends with paid overtime available. We are looking for an ambitious hospitality staff member who is ready to step up into a starting management role within a busy multi-use community facility. This is a hands-on role working as part of a team with some lone working during the day. As a multi-use facility and local rugby club, we vary in business. On busy event days we can have up to 20 staff. No shift will be the same! A friendly members club that is also open to the public. This role is suited to a confident, sociable team member with an aspiration to bring ideas to the table. As a young business, you will have the opportunity to pitch ideas for events or new business and will be supported and encouraged by the Operations Manager to help continuously improve the standards and offer new services. Personal specification: At least 12 months experience within hospitality. A confident person who is not afraid to speak up. Reliable, trustworthy person. Ability to work independently Ability to work effectively within, as well directing the team. Must be able to think on the job and react positively to any issues that may arise; client satisfaction is our main priority. Be flexible in their approach to their role, sometimes working outside the parameters of the official job description. Flexibility around shift patterns to complement business needs. As the Shift Supervisor you will be responsible for the following duties: Managing and delivering the smooth running of the function hire and bar/catering facilities. Cash handling Managing the shift Stock control Assisting with client viewings of the function suite Ensuring all equipment is working as it should Responsible for allocating duties to staff members and ensuring the daily opening and closing checks are completed. What skills are needed: At least 12 months experience within hospitality. Some form of supervisor/team lead experience preferred but not essential. A confident person who is not afraid to speak up. Reliable, trustworthy person. A good all-rounder who is willing to step up to any role within the team to get the service delivered whether that be working the bar, helping in the kitchen or setting up for a wedding/event.
