We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join the Family Intervention Service (MAST) and make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people in Sheffield. As a Family Intervention Worker, you will work in partnership with families and multi-agency colleagues, to deliver a range of targeted interventions and support, to build on existing strengths within the family and address areas of need. We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience of working in the early years sector and with primary and secondary age children and their families.
With direction and support from your manager, you will utilise appropriate assessment and evaluation tools, using a strengths-based approach to develop and inform packages of support for children and families.
As a member of our Family Intervention Service, a commitment to whole family, solution-focused, integrated working is essential to achieve the best possible outcomes for children, young people, and families. We work with a range of internal and external partners such as Education, Health, and Police.
Minimum Requirements:
GCSE or O’ Level in Maths and English (grade 9-4) or equivalent.
A minimum of NVQ Level 2 in Social Care, Early Years, Youth work, or other relevant experience.
Significant experience of working with vulnerable children and their families around child development and parental engagement.
Experience working with other agencies or in a relevant setting.
Skilled at understanding information and assessing risk.
Ability to resolve conflict and support families with parenting skills.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
