Position to be based from any of our offices: Canterbury, Whitstable or Chatham Dockyard.
You must be either CILEx or SRA qualified with at least 10 years PQE.
Requirements
Be equipped and experienced to advise clients in relation to all aspects of Private Family Law, to include but not limited to child related disputes, divorce process, financial remedy negotiations and proceedings, injunctive applications, disputes between unmarried couples and pre and post marital agreements.
Be prepared to engage in business development activities.
Preferably have a demonstrable record of achieving core financial and administrative objectives.
Be a team player, willing to work closely with family team colleagues and the wider firm, supervising junior staff if and when required.
Be able to independently manage a busy caseload (with support where required).
Have good IT skills to ensure a degree of self-sufficiency.
Possess excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate will become a vital part of an expanding, friendly and hardworking team and will possess the following skills and attributes:
An academic background.
Proven Family Law experience working in private practice advising clients on a variety of family law issues, including experience conducting Court managed disputes.
Experience advising clients on matrimonial financial matters at differing levels of wealth, to include an understanding of associated business accounting and pension related issues.
Some advocacy experience in the Family Court is preferred, but not essential.
Strong client care skills with a sensitive and sympathetic understanding of the needs of a family client.
An understanding of the essential requirement for absolute compliance with file and risk management requirements.
A commercial awareness and ability and enthusiasm for marketing the firm via external and internal activities.
Excellent communication skills.
Good analytical and organisational skills.
An ability to use own initiative and awareness of knowing when to seek assistance from colleagues or other professionals.
Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
Excellent IT Skills, specifically experienced working with Microsoft Office applications and a legal document management system.
Willingness to attend meetings at any of our office locations, if required.
Full Driving Licence, preferred but not essential.
