Cardiff and Vale College are looking for a Children's Teacher to provide appropriate learner support in order to meet both the academic and welfare needs of learners.

The successful candidates for the posts will be primarily responsible for undertaking all pedagogic work such as lesson preparation, classroom teaching, and marking. Delivering Family Learning courses/workshops with children only or joint adult and children's sessions.

Responsibilities include:

Conducting assessments at the beginning and end of the courses to monitor and demonstrate progress as well as identifying learning support needs. Undertaking all organisational and administrative work associated with the above. This includes attending team meetings, taking part in professional development activities and staff appraisals, maintaining accurate teaching-related records including details of assessment and attendance. Taking part in course evaluation activities and contributing to the development of the curriculum. Reporting as required for Families First funding. An involvement in marketing, i.e., identification of consumer requirements, creating appropriate publicity materials, and working with external agencies where appropriate.

The successful applicant must hold a primary school qualification (PGCE) in a relevant subject. Previous experience of having taught or delivered in a school is essential along with good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel & Outlook). A relevant Degree/HND is highly desirable but not essential.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential for this role.
