Family Physician opportunities exist with the Family Health Network at its clinic in Port Elgin including ER shifts at the Southampton hospital.
The Southampton hospital has 16 beds and offers a 24/7 ER and a range of ambulatory care and day surgery services. It has been approved for upgrades to their ER and Laboratory.

Each of Brightshores’ six hospitals has a family medicine department. There are independent, group and clinic models of practice across the corporation. In the rural hospitals, family physicians provide 24/7 emergency coverage and GP anesthesia in three hospitals. The urban hospital in Owen Sound includes a small number of family physicians who continue with emergency and obstetrics practices, in addition to their office practices and inpatient care.
