FD Recruit is partnering a client in the stunning Scottish Highlands to appoint a Finance Director. The Finance Director will be joining a successful business that provides services to the hospitality industry. Working alongside a supportive leadership team, the Finance Director will oversee the financial management of the organisation and mentor a small finance team. The Finance Director will have the following responsibilities: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s goals, aligning with operational objectives and the long-term vision of the business. Lead the annual budgeting process and prepare regular financial forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business needs. Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting standards. Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and financial stability, optimising cash management strategies across all properties. Maintain robust financial controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures. Analyse financial performance, providing insights to the executive team to support informed decision-making, and identifying opportunities for operational improvements. Oversee the integration of financial operations for newly acquired businesses, standardising processes, aligning with corporate financial policies, and ensuring a smooth transition. Monitor and manage costs across departments, identifying opportunities to increase efficiencies and optimise resource allocation. Identify and manage financial risks, implementing mitigation strategies to protect the company's assets and financial stability. Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and providing training to enhance team capabilities. Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors, investors, and financial institutions, representing the company’s financial interests and ensuring effective communication. Oversee finance systems and technology, implementing improvements to streamline processes and improve financial reporting accuracy and efficiency. To be successful in this role, the Finance Director will have the following experience: Proven experience as a Finance Director or senior financial leader. Professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CA, or ACA) preferred. Ability to work in a hands-on capacity, managing financial operations, including budgeting, cash flow management, and financial reporting in a centralised finance function. Experience in integrating financial processes for newly acquired businesses, with an understanding of financial consolidation and standardisation. Strong analytical capabilities to assess business performance, interpret complex financial data, and provide actionable insights to executive teams. Strong systems and data analysis capabilities. Experience in leading, developing, and motivating a finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. The salary advertised for this role is a guideline, and the salary offered will be commensurate with experience.
