Job Purpose/Overview To support the delivery and maintenance of training activities within Simulation Services.

The role requires the use of Radar Feed positions within the NATS Simulators to provide a dynamic and realistic simulation of current UK ATC airspace for a number of various simulations.

Simulations will be a mixture of initial ATCO training, licensing training and upcoming ATC projects.

Other Duties Include

To act as the Feed/Pseudo Controller for internal sectors, ab-initio, Unit training, military and civil external units including hybrid Feed/Aircraft Control Position Operator (ACPO) positions on appropriately configured Simulation Workstations.

To provide expertise to all customer simulations for those sectors for which you hold a Minimum Unit Requirement (MUR).

To provide dynamic input during simulations to enhance exercise realism.

To conduct OJTI and additional related tasks in support of Simulation Services requirements once you have achieved an initial validation.

The FSS will hold or may be expected to obtain additional skills as an ACPO subject to Simulation Service requirements.

In addition to the above, FSS will be required to help support activity packages led by Simulation Services.

Essential Skills and Experience The FSS must have a good working knowledge of UK ATC and a good understanding of Air Traffic Management Systems.

and/or The FSS must have a good working knowledge of the TATC ab-initio training environment, Training courses and NATS ab-initio training framework.

Knowledge of the Swanwick, PC, MTMA, CTC system and MOPs and / or previous experience of supporting Simulations is desirable.

The FSS will have excellent communication, inter-personal skills, be a strong team player and be customer focused.

Applicants who currently hold an operational ATSA skill will be required to maintain this skill alongside the FSS role, assisting in flexible deployment of resource across CTC & Swanwick subject to business requirements.
