Fertility Advanced Clinical Practitioner

Provide clinical assessment using advanced knowledge and clinical skills to provide diagnoses for both differentiated and undifferentiated patients, and develop management plans for optimal care. Participate in research related to the area of practice and provide education/mentorship to a multi-professional audience within the University Health Board and in Higher Education settings. On a daily basis, the Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will provide clinical assessment and management to patients. The post holder will support research/use information systems, lead, and participate in relevant research within practice, as well as demonstrate an understanding of research methodology. Provides specialist education and training to other staff, students, patients, and carers. Main duties of the job

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate specialist clinical care of patients or clients; give highly specialist advice to patients, clients, or carers. Assessment, investigational management, and diagnosis; make decisions to discharge or admit, using a wide range of work procedures and practices that require advanced theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Develop therapeutic interventions; use advanced skills and autonomous judgement to prescribe drug treatments following interpretation of clinical findings (use of independent prescribing where appropriate to role). Carry out patient clinical reviews and feedback complex clinical information to enable decisions in care management to be agreed upon and/or changed. Develop and implement specialist programmes of care; give highly specialist advice to patients, clients, or carers. Dexterity and accuracy required to carry out procedures relevant to the area of practice. Supervise the work of others; provide clinical supervision of staff and students; deliver specialist training in the area of expertise. Implement clinical policies and propose changes to working practices or procedures in own workspace. About us

Job responsibilities

Provide clinical nurse management, leadership, and expertise skills in all aspects of service delivery. Work as an expert clinical practitioner for the specialist needs of the patients, demonstrating a sound knowledge of issues relating to assisted conception. The post-holder, with support from the Lead Nurse and Specialist Nurses in this area, will ensure that high standards are monitored and maintained within the framework of Clinical Governance and Health Fertilisation & Embryology Authority (HFEA) code of conduct. Out of hours review of staffing levels and workload. Lead by example, demonstrating effective role modelling to all members of the nursing team. Provide specialist nursing advice and psychological support to patients, carers, and health care professionals. As a senior nurse, contribute to service development, audit, and research projects and help develop educational packages according to the needs of care. Qualifications

Professional registration (NMC, HCPC) In receipt of Level 7 Education (master's degree) relevant to the area of practice or equivalent experience Specialist knowledge of patient pathways. Advanced theoretical knowledge and practical experience to carry out clinical consultation and/or examination relevant to the area of practice. In receipt of or working toward Independent Prescribing qualification (if required for role). Certificate/training in embryo transfer Proven experience in general fertility and assisted conception Detailed working knowledge of HEFA Evidence of management and administrative experience Experience

Post registration clinical experience in practice within speciality area. Experience in staff management and professional development. Experience in audit, QIP, and research processes. Experience in leading change in clinical practice. Experience of teaching multi-professional staff. Evidence of participating in professional forums/external organisations.
