Field Service Engineer

to join our Kongsberg Discovery UK team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing effective Onshore & Offshore technical support to customers and supporting colleagues whilst striving to deliver the highest standards of customer service. This role has the potential to cover all aspects of mobilisation, installation, commissioning, maintenance and service operations spanning the Kongsberg Discovery ‘Ocean Technology’ product range: Underwater Positioning & Communications

e.g. LBL/USBL; HiPAP; cNODE

) Underwater Mapping

(

e.g. Multibeam Echosounders; Data acquisition and processing

) Responsibilities Provide field support and service of Kongsberg Ocean Technologies product range Provide remote Technical Support as required by Kongsberg Global Customer Support team Work as part of the Kongsberg UK engineer team providing support to other departments when required, including Sales, Rental & Repair projects. Maintain good relationship with clients Proper preparation and execution of work assigned Responsible for generation of service reports, update drawings/technical information and associated administration tasks Workshop test and technical preparations Position will primarily cover the UK & Ireland Region with the possibility of supporting other parts of the world when required Conduct work with a high regard for Health & Safety, Quality and Kongsberg company values Required to undertake ad-hoc duties which may be assigned from time-to-time. Qualifications and experience Educated to HNC level in a STEM subject as a minimum (or commensurate with experience) Minimum 2 years practical experience working in a similar technical support or workshop based role Minimum 2 years experience working in an offshore, energy or maritime environment Experience in hydrographic survey and/or construction survey operations Valid offshore survival and medical or ability to obtain You are able to Act on own initiative, make things happen and accept responsibility for the results Analyse complex issues and problems and come up with rational judgments Communicate in a clear, precise and structured way Co-operate well with others, share knowledge, experience, information and support others in the pursuit of team goals Be aware of own strengths and limitations and pursue learning and career development opportunities Point of contact Iain Miller
