A Field Service Engineer with an Electrical background is needed by a growing engineering company.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical systems. Your main duties will include:

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Safe, correct, and efficient preventive and routine maintenance of equipment and machinery. Diagnostics of faults and issues of equipment, machinery, and systems. Repair of equipment, machinery (electrical & mechanical) and systems. Correctly disassemble, inspect, clean, replace, and re-assemble mechanical assemblies. Installation of electro-mechanical systems in accordance with safety standards and regulations. Electro-mechanical system testing and commissioning. Completion of risk assessments, reports, and certificates. Equipment and machinery health checks. Liaise with customers about works and suggested remedial actions. Have the knowledge, understanding, and competency to identify potential regulation breaches and feedback to the office. Feedback to the technical team with improvement suggestions.

The successful candidate will need the following skills & personal qualities: Electrical/electronic hands-on practical skills. Mechanical hands-on practical skills - maintenance experience. Appropriate engineering/electrical experience and training such as an apprenticeship. Level 3 engineering or technical qualifications (e.g. ONC/ NVQ L3/ C&G L3). Full clean UK driving licence. Ability to pass security clearance. IT literate with email and MS suite such as Word and Excel. Ability to travel and stay overnight regularly (up to 1 week at a time with 2/3 nights typical).

This role is Field-based with 80% on site/traveling and 20% factory and would ideally suit an experienced multi-skilled maintenance technician/engineer who enjoys travelling and variety in their work, as each day provides its own challenges. You will need the ability to apply technical knowledge to solve problems, a strong safety awareness and culture, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
