Wright Staff recruitment are currently representing a worldwide known brand in Plant Engineering and Manufacturing. As part of their growth strategy, they are looking for skilled engineers to join the business, representing the leading brand. We are looking for independent and confident individuals with a strong background in plant, electrics, hydraulics, and mechanics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Service, repair and maintain brand machinery and other plant equipment to the manufacturer's specifications to ensure machine reliability and safety. Report machine defects and upsell services wherever possible, with financial benefits for opportunities created. Diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic, powertrain, and various other faults prior to initiating and completing repairs. Operate our 'Service Master' diagnostic software via a laptop computer (training will be given). Complete detailed reports of work completed along with supporting photographs via our in-house Service Manager personal tablet system. Complete risk assessments in line with company health and safety policy and ensure safe working practices are in place at all times. Accurately order parts with the parts department. Work closely with the service department and management team. Perform any other duties as deemed necessary to fulfil the role.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Relevant experience and qualifications e.g., City and Guild, NVQ Level 3 qualifications or equivalent to or greater than. Level 2 NVQ potentially accepted but will require extensive experience/knowledge. Experience in construction plant, diesel engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions, and fault finding using electronic diagnostic equipment. Good IT skills. Knowledge and experience of a variety of machinery ideally in the construction or agricultural industry. Relationship building skills to interact with customers and develop a positively satisfying experience. Strong communication skills for effective internal and external communication. Time management skills to enable timely completion of tasks without compromising safety. Professional presentation at all times. Must hold a full driving licence and have the ability to operate machinery on site for testing purposes (training can be given to the right candidate).
For the Field Service Engineer/s required, we need experience and knowledge of fault finding, diagnostics, and repairs, which is a more skilled area compared to servicing and maintenance engineering.
