Field Service Engineer

Field Service Engineer Home based - ideally Gloucester / Cheltenham / Bristol / Oxford region Basic + generous overtime + vehicle + benefits (realistic 1st year earnings c 45k - 50k+) Our client has been established for more than a quarter of a century and specializes in the planned preventative and reactive maintenance and repair of the complete range of special purpose waste processing machinery. As a result of continued success and an ongoing programme of strategic growth, they are now seeking to recruit a multi-skilled Field Service Engineer to complement their established and professional team. Essential Requirements: Proven fabrication, electrical, and welding experience. Full UK driving licence. You will be provided with a company vehicle and tasked with visiting customer sites throughout the South West region of the UK, ideally based in or around the Gloucester / Cheltenham / Bristol area. Your responsibilities will include: Conducting servicing and general works on the complete range of special purpose machinery. Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing. Fault finding for breakdowns, diagnosing faults on electrical control panels/circuits and hydraulic circuits. Effecting repairs as required, including basic fabrication and mechanical repairs. Reading electrical and hydraulic circuit drawings and relaying technical information accurately and efficiently. While experience in building or wiring electrical control panels is essential, a hands-on approach with a background in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic engineering is also required, with welding experience proving distinctly advantageous. A self-motivated individual able to work both autonomously and as part of a team, you will possess previous experience in fault finding, diagnosis, and repair on a range of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Experience with permit to work protocols and other company safety rules and regulations is necessary for ensuring safety. You will also be skilled in evaluating the operational status of all processes and services and developing plans to ensure continuous running, as well as maintaining planned maintenance standards. The ability to integrate quickly as an effective team member is essential.
