Field Service Engineer
Salary: £34,000, 39 hour week + overtime x 1.5
Location: Portishead BS20, Monday to Friday 08:00am - 16:30pm, earlier finish Friday

An opportunity to join an established company from their Portishead depot. The role will be working within a small team delivering services for customers with generator equipment hired, ensuring the assets are maintained to the highest standards. A full driving licence is required and the role reports to the Field Service Foreman.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out planned service and maintenance of company generator equipment Accurately fault find and diagnose both mechanical and electrical issues Identify required specialist equipment and connectors Utilisation of the proper testing equipment for effective repair and maintenance Ensure all equipment is set up as required to customer's specifications Modify generators where required following instruction from the technical team Repair and maintain machinery as per company and manufacturer requirements Attend equipment breakdowns as necessary to support the delivery of excellence customer service levels Be part of the teams on-call Rota system, overtime may sometimes be with short notice Adherence to the Integrated Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, standards, procedures and records
Desired Skills and Experience
Able to prioritise tasks on a daily basis and be well organised Ability to work autonomously and within strict deadlines working to high standards Experience with mechanical/electrical engineering or diesel fitting Familiar with electronic systems and mechanical components (including engines and alternators) Relevant mechanical and or electrical qualifications or time served experience Deep Sea knowledge and or synchronising experience is useful Capable of updating information and records on the company system (laptop provided) Good communication skills, to liaise with clients in a confident, friendly and professional manner Ability to deal with clients confidentially, tactfully and with diplomacy Experience of working in a team and on own initiative with minimum supervision
