An exciting job opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Services Engineer to join our small UK team. Candidates will be required to be based from our facility at BioCity Glasgow, near Motherwell, and be able to work off site at client sites on a frequent basis.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Working closely with the Technical Services Manager, as an integral part of Sampled’s Technical Engineering Team, the primary remit of the Field Technical Services Engineer is to provide Validation, Service and support for Sampled and their clients internally and externally. The role requires daily interaction with colleagues and with clients in a broad range of organisations within the Life Sciences sector including pharmaceuticals, biologics, and medical devices. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure internal and client equipment is validated, serviced and maintained within regulations and kept operational at all times. Internally, support will be provided for equipment at the Company’s facilities in Glasgow (30%) and for Clients across the UK (70%). Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and ensure all work is completed safely, in a timely manner and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice standards (GMP). Validation, Calibration and Service requirements: Stability chambers Fridges Freezers ULT freezers Cryogenic freezers Incubators Photostability chambers Warehouse and lab ambient maps Develop positive relationships with clients, applying depth of knowledge, and establishing self as the go-to person for day-to-day support. Communicate opportunities for additional business with existing and new clients to Technical Services Manager and Commercial Team. Be an effective team member, delivering quality customer service and ensuring issues are effectively resolved in a timely manner. Able to mentor and train team members as required. 5+ years of relevant experience as a Technical Services Engineer ideally in a scientific working environment, for example Pharmaceuticals, Biobanking, Laboratory Services. Experience of calibration and validation principles preferred. Qualified in Electrical Engineering preferred. HVAC engineering qualifications preferred. Experienced in following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and meeting Regulatory requirements. Familiarity of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). Experience of a strong Health & Safety and Quality culture. Proven ability to deliver quality customer service and ensure issues are effectively resolved in a timely manner. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Able to deliver training to / mentor team members. Self-motivated and able to work well as part of a small team. Able to maintain and grow relationships with internal and external clients. Strong organisational skills, with flexibility to respond to changing priorities. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Able to work independently, driven to deliver results. Able to undertake a proportion of travel within the UK and abroad where required. Applies a continuous improvement approach, to achieve business excellence and support clients. Willing and able to learn, with an interest in continued professional development. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
