Job Summary

Acting as the first point of contact for in-field technical support to our customers, the Field Service Lead (FSL) will coordinate all aspects of the issue resolution process from initial report to resolution. Working closely with the commercial team and local service network, the FSL will ensure a fast and robust response to any issues raised, providing on-site investigations and technical support where necessary.

The FSL will then be responsible for coordinating any next steps, interfacing with the warranty, plant and service teams to resolve issues and generating supporting documentation. The FSL will also coordinate the activities of the service network, offering technical and logistical support to our service partners ensuring best practice is followed. They will take responsibility for tracking repair and service activities at each service partner and balancing inputs from the field.

The individual will support continued development of the in-field issue processes and act as the ‘voice of customer’ providing feedback from the field to the eMobility team. This is a key role within a growing organisation operating within the vehicle electrification sector, and the successful candidate will be a key figure in the development of our aftersales support provision, offering significant opportunities for growth and development.

Responsibilities

Provide technical, in-field support for key OEM bus & Truck customers including:

Conducting investigations and diagnostics of eCompressor systems at customer locations around Europe.

Perform limited on-site repairs and maintenance.

Provide timely, professional communication to the customer about the status of each concern.

Establish and maintain a complete record of in-field issues including warranty and zero miles claims.

Provide support for the service centre network including:

Coordinating and tracking warranty and repair works.

Providing technical support and guidance.

Supporting development of service centre process and ensuring compliance with agreed standards.

Champion maintenance best practice and support the commercial and product teams to maximise revenue generation.

Basic Qualifications

A HNC/ HND or equivalent in a technical discipline – Qualifications focused on electrical or mechanical vehicle subject would be beneficial.

Equivalent career experience or alternative qualifications considered.

Fluency in English.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Site based with some flexibility.

International travel required (up to 50%).

Proven experience in a field service role dealing with electro-mechanical systems.

Hands-on experience maintaining electro-mechanical equipment or similar systems.

Excellent communicator with strong verbal and written skills including report writing.

Capable of building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate should be organized with a structured, process-driven approach.

Willing to support development of internal processes and demonstrate best practice in these cases.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, diverse and evolving work environment.

Previous experience within the automotive Tier 1 supply chain or in vehicle mechanics would be desirable.

Experience of automotive quality processes (Such as 8D/ APQP/ PPAP) would be beneficial.

A service background in vehicle mechanics, electronics or compressor systems would be highly desirable.
