Field Support Engineer We are seeking a dedicated Field Support Engineer to provide second-line IT support and expertise to educational institutions and select corporate clients across Merseyside. This role is ideal for a tech-savvy professional who thrives on solving problems, enjoys a dynamic work environment, and has a passion for empowering schools and businesses through tailored IT solutions.

Role Overview: As a Field Support Engineer, you'll be the primary technical point of contact for a range of clients, focusing primarily on schools and other educational organisations. You will manage IT systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide hands-on support during regular on-site visits. This role also includes opportunities to work on IT projects with corporate clients, offering variety and challenges to expand your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver second-line IT support to schools, universities, and corporate clients. Maintain and optimise IT systems, networks, and infrastructure for reliable performance. Conduct on-site visits across Merseyside, providing technical support and IT consultancy. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently. Support and configure IT solutions, including cloud platforms (Office 365, Google Workspace), server systems (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP), and educational technologies (e.g., MIS, Paxton Systems). Work with staff and clients to ensure IT solutions meet their needs and expectations. Stay up to date with industry best practices and proactively recommend improvements.

Skills & Experience Required: A minimum of 5 years' experience in IT support, preferably within educational environments. Strong expertise in network management, server administration, and cloud platforms. Familiarity with Smoothwall, Aruba switches, and educational IT systems. Proficient in Mac management, MDM tools (e.g., Jamf), and print management systems (e.g., Papercut). Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. A client-focused mindset with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle for travel.
