We have an opportunity for a full-time Finance Analyst to join our dynamic and busy Business Support Team.

This role will be supporting a Business Support Accountant and Senior Finance Analyst working with Clinical Departments to help ensure robust and accurate financial management and reporting are completed at all times.

Job description

Job responsibilities

The post holder will support and input into the production of monthly and annual management accounts, including:

Investigating variances and resolving discrepancies, liaising with internal and external parties as necessary. Discussion with staff regarding confidential and sensitive financial issues and offering financial advice where possible. Participating with interfaces and journals to input and manipulate financial data onto Finance Systems.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

Relevant finance experience in a large organisation. Experience of preparing and maintaining accounting records. Use of relevant software packages. Preparation of management accounts.

Desirable

Previous NHS Accounting Experience. Knowledge of E Financials. Knowledge of Oracle Financials. Knowledge of Electronic Staff Record.

Qualifications

Essential

AAT full membership (i.e. exams plus portfolio of minimum one year's work experience). CCAB/CIMA Certificate level or Honours degree.

Desirable

Commitment towards completing CCAB/CIMA qualification.

Skills

Essential

Excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to explain financial issues with clarity.

Desirable

Influencing, negotiating and cross-functional working skills. Willingness to travel between sites.
