Finance Analyst / Accounting Assistant –

responsible for delivering accounts and financial budgetary reports and forecasting advice for a leading healthcare organisation.

Location: Priory Centre, Barnsley Contract: 12-month FTC – maternity cover Salary: £29,458 per annum As a Finance Analyst, you’ll provide support to the accounts and finance department and be responsible for carrying out transactional accounts duties and play a key role in analysing financial trends, creating forecasting models and insightful reports for senior

stakeholders. THE ROLE:

Accounting

Support the team’s Accounts Payable processes (expenditure) including understanding the complex structures within the Company. Support the team’s Accounts Receivable (income) processes. Support with bank reconciliations and investigating transactions where appropriate. Maintenance of the company’s general ledger and understand including adjustments to reflect accruals accounting. Process journals where appropriate. Financial Analysis

Identify and summarise trends in the organisation’s financial performance and communicate significant points to senior stakeholders. Support with the creation of financial modelling and methods of forecasting to account for changeable business income, in particular from QOF and IIF contract targets. Prepare reports and projections based on analysis of the company’s accounts and cash flow, at both organisation wide level and for specific projects, contracts or services as required. Evaluate capital expenditures and depreciation on both existing and prospective projects/assets. Together with colleagues, provide support in evaluating profit plans. Prepare current or projected financial data as requested by department leads. Assess the affordability of new business proposals. Standard Reporting

Prepare routine financial information and analysis documents and reports for presentation to the executive management team, to detail and explain variances against prior periods, budgets, or forecasts. Organise data into accessible reports and perform various types of analysis using key metrics such as yearly growth, return on assets, return on equity etc. Oversee financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control and project control. Manage month-end activities ensuring accuracy in the month-end reporting. Review staff headcount forecast data in partnership with HR and provide financial oversight of recruitment spend to ensure a cost-efficient model of workforce planning. Work with other department leads to gather inputs for various financial logs and models. Finance Department Support Support colleagues within the finance department with various other financial and payroll related duties as required. This may include:

Calculation of pay changes following annual reviews. Audits and internal checks of colleague’s work. Supporting with tax year end processes including the creation and filing of statutory reports. Assistance in the management of pensions. DO YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING?

Qualifications:

AAT, or equivalent is essential; relevant finance degree preferred. Experience:

Minimum of 3 years in accounts and finance, including accounts payable/receivable, budget control, and payroll. Skills:

Proficiency with Xero, Excel, and strong analytical skills; NHS knowledge is a plus. Personal Attributes:
