About the role Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to help drive change and be part of a dynamic but friendly team that provides excellent support to the wider Dorset Council housing service? An opportunity has arisen to join the Housing Finance and Performance Team.

This post offers the flexibility of working in a hybrid way providing support based in both the Wareham Office as well as ‘virtual’ working from home. We maintain an effective team ethic by communicating daily as well as using Microsoft Teams to communicate throughout the day providing a network of support to each other.

You will have a flexible approach to work and have the skills and motivation to organise and effectively prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines. Work in a demanding and busy environment and successfully deal with prioritisation conflicts. Excellent numerical, ICT, and communication skills. Ability to work positively and efficiently under pressure. Ability to work collaboratively. Understand the importance of confidentiality and GDPR. Well organised and able to work on your own as well as part of a small team. This role requires effective team working and the sharing of knowledge to achieve outcomes so you must have the confidence to be able to work in a collaborative way. You will be mostly dealing with payments for accommodation for homeless households which will involve the prompt and accurate payment of invoices, checking and rectifying any queries, recharging clients for their stay, chasing arrears, and negotiating repayment schedules. Additionally, you will be required to assist the Senior, Technical and Performance Officer in their work reporting and monitoring on the performance of the wider housing service by producing reports as requested and reporting that information back to senior management.
