THE ROLE The Finance Business Partner - B&L UK Actuals and Reporting will support the Finance Director and the wider business by being accountable for our business lines based in the UK and relevant sub-divisional view of monthly results. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable for the consolidated regional/divisional view of monthly results to finance and non-finance colleagues. Key partner to all colleagues from the various business lines within the UK for all actuals queries and projects. Key point of contact for Group and outsourcer for any UK management and statutory reporting related queries, including technical accounting queries from the outsourcer to ensure results are compliant with BBC Group accounting policies. Ensuring best practice and standardised outputs across all divisions from the outsourcer. Primary contact for Finance Director and business contacts on all Actuals and Reporting activities, including results to date. Liaise with the FP&A Finance Business Partner to ensure actuals are correctly reflected in the forecast process. Liaise with Financial Controller of subsidiary to ensure timely submission of group reporting and to assist with queries where necessary. Driving continuous process improvement via the Outsourcer. Key contact for auditor and divisional statutory accounts. Provide financial information to relevant stakeholders, ensure that all statutory reporting obligations are met. Line management of actuals and reporting analysts within the UK team structure. ICFR implementation. DAY TO DAY TASKS:
Month End:
Review regional results prepared by Finance Analysts, outsourcer and subsidiary. High level review of balance sheets and ensuring completion of quarterly reporting. Review month end reporting prepared by the Finance Analysts and outsourcer & finesse commentary. Agree regional timetable with outsourcer and subsidiary ahead of month end.
Year End:
Respond to requests and queries from auditors. Review and manage completion of year end schedules. Manage year end queries from Group. Feed into CoSec team statutory accounts process.
Ad Hoc Support:
Support the business and respond to adhoc queries. Liaise with 3rd party advisors/accountants. Support Group Consolidation. Provide assistance to FP&A team during forecast on performance to date.
Region:
Regular catch ups with FD. Regular catch ups with direct reports. Regular catch ups with the business and Head of Commercial Finance. Liaise with FP&A managers and analysts to update on business performance and actuals.
Group:
Act as point of contact for Group for month and year end queries.
Outsourcer:
Regular calls with Outsourcer. Pre and post month end call with Outsourcer.
WHAT DOES IT TAKE? ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Professional accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent. Experience of managing an outsourced finance function within a complex matrix organisation. Experience of working with, and the analysis and interpretation, of financial information. Experience of the application of governance and control principles, ICFR. Management Reporting. Technical Accounting Skills. DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
