Location: Sheffield
Full time, fixed term – 12 months
Salary: up to £65,000

Role overview:
This role takes responsibility for the reporting of financial information and the key stakeholder relationship for Technology and Product functions, leading on financial reporting and insightful advice and analysis to support business decision making. In addition, you will be providing support on financial aspects of a wide range of initiatives including but not limited to, capex reporting, product roadmap tracking, business planning, data quality, business practice and process improvements and acquisition integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
Key stakeholder relationship for Technology and Product functions, leading on reporting and insightful advice and analysis to support business decision making
Monthly P&L and capex reporting
Support the capex data recording process, work with the technology and product functions to determine appropriate capitalization
Provide accurate and full supporting documentation for audit purposes, liaising with the external auditors as required
Monthly business driver/ metric reporting
Present monthly results to function leads, providing explanations of variances vs. budget and promote insightful discussion on financial performance
Support stakeholders through the business planning cycle in order to establish operational plans and budget inputs
Support product roadmap tracking and challenge prioritisation
Support the tracking of expenses vs budget
Understand and challenge current business practice, identifying and implementing initiatives to improve processes and deliver efficiencies
Support Group-level initiatives and ad-hoc projects including integrations associated with recent acquisitions
Management responsibility for a direct report
Provide support to the Group Head of Finance and wider Finance Leadership team
Provide high service levels to the business
What will you need to succeed?
Ability to think both analytically and strategically – to go beyond the numbers and to think logically about underlying business issues
Strong commercial awareness combined with robust numerical and analytical skills
Strong understanding of accounting and financial control particularly capitalized development costs
Proactive, ability to use initiative, anticipate issues and develop practical solutions in a collaborative manner
Articulate with good verbal and written communication skills
Be committed and flexible in your approach to work and able to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritise work while meeting tight deadlines
Be passionate about providing support to the business; drive and enthusiasm to use reporting to identify and deliver financial or operational improvements
Advanced Excel skills
Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 3+ years PQE
Experience of working with and analysing large data sets
Experience in a similar role
