Our client is a dynamic, highly commercial, rapidly expanding, market leading supplier of innovative technology products into the defence and security industries. Already well-established, they are looking to double in size over the next couple of years, both in the UK and their offices in Europe and the Middle East. They now seek a personable and capable Finance Controller to handle all of the group’s finance functions, including accounting, financial reporting, financial forecasting and budgeting. This is a managerial and hands-on role reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. Key responsibilities of the

Finance Controller:

Monthly management accounts and other reporting, as required. Forecasting, budgeting, financial planning, cash flow and cash management. Performing / oversight of all regulatory functions, including monthly VAT return and monthly EC sales list, and similar. Organising and managing financial audits to comply with current legislation both in UK and overseas. Management of daily accounts routines, journals, bank transactions, prepayments, accruals, maintenance of fixed asset register, timely and controlled supplier payments, reconciliations. Responsible for stock control ensuring strong controls are in place. Controlling costs and working with both budget holders to drive efficiency and cost savings. Line management of accounts payable staff. Support senior managers providing guidance and reporting. Oversee and take responsibility for credit control. All Payroll and pensions administration, UK and Overseas. Liaison with the Company’s external accountants, to plan and complete year-ends, tax planning, calculations and returns. Liaison with the Company’s bankers in UK and Overseas. Liaison with and reporting to parent company where applicable. Support staff on Sage50 access and training. Involvement in systems / IT development & improvement. Any other reasonable duties required to support the company in meeting its objectives. This is a business with momentum. They support and develop their staff and have created a great atmosphere in which the right person will develop their responsibility.
