Zanda is an Executive Search partner that works exclusively with high growth start-ups as they look to scale their business with senior finance talent. Zanda partners with VCs, Founders, CEOs, and CFOs when it comes to successfully delivering on key senior appointments. Who is the business? Zanda is supporting a clean technology scaleup that's recently taken on additional investment to expand operations and innovation within the circular economy. The business continues to hit key milestones and is now embarking on the next phase of growth with support of industry leading partners. This cross-functional leadership team now seeks their first, full-time finance leader hire; and a commercially aware Head of Finance or Finance Director to join the business. Working closely with the outsourced accounting provider should ensure sound day-to-day financial operations, giving you the time to elevate into a wider financial planning and strategic role which will ensure the success of this role. This is primarily a remote role with infrequent travel required to collaborate with partners in London, the Midlands and Europe. The ideal candidate will seek to enjoy a broad, hands-on role, and the variety of working in a startup or scaleup business on a day-to-day basis to build the best commercial product offering possible. Key Responsibilities: Work with the CEO and executive team to help shape the financial strategy of the business. Establish more effective processes and controls across all areas of financial operations. Develop financial models that allow accurate insights into product profitability to support key decisions. Lead business budgeting and forecasting to support short, medium and long-term business and cashflow planning in collaboration with all key stakeholders. Business partner across functions including marketing and procurement. Enhance month-end reporting including managing the cashflow and working capital arrangements. What background should you have before you press apply! Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA). Prior experience in a dynamic startup, scaleup or high growth SME. Previous experience in a similar Finance Director or Head of Finance role, establishing a finance function and driving commercial decision making. Proven experience to show a practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques. Solid knowledge of standard accountancy and finance best practices. Extensive experience of budgeting, financial forecasting and broader FP&A. Experience working within clean technology, sustainability or advanced manufacturing sector is a bonus. To apply for this role, please use the Apply button, or alternatively, email your CV to Nick House at Zanda.
