Finance Manager - Barnstaple / Hybrid - Circa: £40,000 Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively engaged by a new client, a rapidly expanding bespoke construction related business with clients located throughout the Westcountry. Company turnover has increased sharply and they now seek to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to join their team. This is a permanent position which will be based from the company’s Barnstaple based headquarters, but with some potential for remote work in the future. The role will ideally be full time but the business may consider reduced or flexible working hours to suit the successful candidate. The Finance Manager will be supported by a part time Finance Director and will work closely with all members of the senior management team. The post holder will assume lead responsibility for the day-to-day financial control of a fast paced and growing business whilst supervising and developing one Accounts Assistant. Key responsibilities include: Preparation of detailed management accounts and financial reports with translatable commentary Management and reconciliation of multiple company bank accounts Overall management of the accounts payable/receivable function Payroll processing Development and implementation of system and process improvements Assisting FD with accounting projects We’re looking for a candidate with recently gained and relevant vocational experience, ideally though not essentially, gained within the construction sector (or with working knowledge of the CIS scheme). Our client is not concerned by qualifications and welcomes applicants that hold AAT, are part/fully professionally qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or qualified by experience. The successful candidate should have experience of working with Sage based systems and have good MS Excel competency. The role works with a motivated and professional team and the Finance Manager will be a prominent member of the business, so excellent team-working and communication skills are essential.
