The Opportunity
Reporting into the Financial Controller, this is a great opportunity for someone working at a Senior or Group Accountant level who is looking to step into a formal financial leadership role, offering you the opportunity to provide leadership and guidance to a small team of qualified accountants.
The role will also utilize your technical accounting expertise, as you support the external audit process, and seek to generate efficiencies within the reporting and month-end piece, allowing you to make a real impact on the daily workflow of the team.
The Company
An established commercial business with a New Zealand wide operation that has undergone significant change over the past few years and is looking to evolve again to meet customer requirements.
The Role
Oversight, coaching and development of a small team of accountants
Ensuring that the monthly close processes are delivered in a timely and accurate manner
Reviewing and approving payments, ensuring internal control procedures are followed
Support the Financial Controller with ad-hoc projects within the finance function as they arise
Seek to make improvements or create efficiencies where possible to current processes
Your Profile
CA or CPA qualified, preferably having had experience as an auditor and more recently with a larger or complex commercial entity as a Senior or Group Accountant
Strong technical skills with experience in delivering monthly reporting, and supporting processes such as external audit
Have experience either supporting or providing some coaching to staff with a want to step into a formal people leadership role
User experience with tier 1 or tier 2 ERP system and a strong skillset within MS Excel
Happy to be office based, ideally 4 days per week and hold full unrestricted working rights for New Zealand, based in Christchurch
