The company has been hugely successful in recent years and is on course to turnover £11m this year, with a projection of £20m in their next financial year. This anticipated growth will be generated from numerous projects and tenders that are at an advanced stage, which will be accounted for in the next financial year.
Key Responsibilities
Handle the preparation and submission of VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC regulations. Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded, and discrepancies are promptly investigated and resolved. Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely payments and collections. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy. Oversee all subcontractor accounts, and process all subcontractor invoices and payments. CIS Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of CIS compliance, including verifying subcontractors and submitting monthly returns.
Further Information Proven experience as a Finance/Accounts Manager. Professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred or Qualified by Experience. Ideally, have knowledge of VAT requirements and the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). Strong proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
