Hours: 35 hours a week – Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

As part of the AXA Group, Taking Care provides around-the-clock TEC services to over 120,000 people throughout the UK. We are passionate about the instrumental role that TEC plays in allowing individuals to live independently in their homes for longer. At the heart of Taking Care are our Emergency Resolution Centres (ERCs). We also deliver our service in partnership with several local authorities and housing associations.
As a Finance Manager, you will:
Prepare monthly Management accounts.
Business partnering and cost centre reporting.
Oversee B2B invoicing, reporting, and on-boarding.
What we are looking for in our Finance Manager:
Ideally, you will have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail alongside a computer literacy skillset and proactive work ethic. We are looking for someone who has the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Previous management experience would be advantageous but not essential as training can be provided.
The Finance Manager will have the following responsibilities:
The preparation of the monthly Management Accounts.
Control of balance sheet, including the preparation of monthly reconciliations.
Sales and volume reporting for internal use and external reporting.
Working with the Business Development team to provide information and insight into Corporate accounts.
Budget and forecast preparation, including cashflow forecasting.
Deputise for the Head of Finance in their absence.
Support project implementation, including business acquisition and systems.
Day-to-day management of the Finance Assistant.
Regular appraisal sessions and 1-2-1’s with direct reports, as per company process.
Managing and approving leave applications and sickness absence.
Supervision, support, and development of direct reports.
To influence and role model the cultural change required to enable Taking Care to become a successful commercial business and Employer of Choice.
Development and Training of our staff is really important to us; however, we will need the following core skills and experience to be able to fulfil the role of Finance Manager:
AAT Qualified or equivalent.
5+ years finance experience.
Competent in Microsoft Excel.
Use of recognised accounting packages.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communicator.
Logical and systematic.
The position can be based at either Exeter or Ashburton.
