The role Within this role, you will be accountable for managing the delivery of the planning, reporting and analysis activities within FP&A, with a specific focus on the reporting element and providing support to business areas. You will be responsible for the engagement with the Finance Business Partners (FBPs) and the Business to ensure the delivery of insightful management and strategic reporting. Key to delivery in this role will be co-ordinating financial planning processes and their production, ensuring financial rigour and the meeting of stakeholder requirements by ensuring that reporting principles and governance are adhered to. You will drive the delivery of an agenda of continuous improvement both in terms of quality and efficiency, across FP&A processes and systems, and facilitate automation where feasible. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK. The person The successful candidate will have experience within FP&A and is competent in delivering budgeting and forecasting accurately across Finance. You will have a good understanding and knowledge of planning and performance processes, including annual budget, periodic forecast, and business reviews. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential to enable you to effectively produce relevant reports and analysis within FP&A. Being a part or fully qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) would be a distinct advantage, however this isn’t essential. To succeed in this role, you will be comfortable in building effective relationships and communicating to a variety of stakeholders including FBPs and Senior Leaders within Railpen. You will be analytical in your approach to allow you to effectively identify and resolve potential discrepancies. Organisation skills and the ability to demonstrate effective time management to ensure delivery to agreed timescales is key.
