Are you ready to manage the day to day financial operations of a fast-growing, innovative company? Our client is a dynamic SME who is looking for a skilled Finance Manager to join their expanding team. This is more than just a finance role—it's a chance to make a lasting impact in a company with ambitious growth plans. The Finance Manager will play an essential role in that journey.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the managing director, the Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial processes and helping the business scale effectively as it grows. You will have full ownership of the finance function and will be a key player in ensuring financial operations run smoothly and efficiently. This is very much a hands-on role in the day-to-day activities whilst building a successful and functional finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

Xero expertise: Manage the day-to-day financial operations, including the purchase ledger, sales ledger, payments, and invoicing. Due to the high value nature of individual sales, the volume of transactions is low, hence the role will also include processing. Financial reporting: Produce monthly management accounts and other weekly metrics for presentation to the management team. Stock: Implement a new stock & WIP system to allow more accurate measurement of product margin and improved stock management. Work with the operations team to design and embed new processes, continuously monitor the system. Cash flow forecasting: Complete a weekly cash flow forecast to enable efficient management of cash resources. Medium term business model: Maintain the business model used to plan the future strategy of the business. Bank reconciliations: Reconcile multiple accounts, including current, savings, and credit cards. VAT returns: Complete VAT submissions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC. Payment management: Responsible for mid-month and end-of-month purchase ledger payments, BACS payments, and credit card payment processes. Credit control: Manage credit control, including debt chasing, credit checks, and retention processing. HMRC compliance: Prepare and post PAYE journal entries, managing monthly payments to HMRC. Manage the relationship with the external payroll provider. Requirements

About You:

Experience: Demonstrable experience in a Finance Manager or similar role, ideally within an SME environment. Stock & WIP experience is desirable. Xero proficiency: Highly proficient in Xero and capable of managing a broad range of financial tasks using the software. Detail-oriented: Strong attention to detail, particularly when reconciling statements and processing payments. Adaptable: Able to manage growing demands within the finance department, with the business committed to bringing in additional support as the company scales. Strong communicator: Capable of working effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless financial operations. Benefits

What's On Offer

Salary of £50,000. Quarterly performance-based bonus scheme. Holiday purchase scheme. Why Join?

Growth Opportunity: A unique chance to join a business on an exciting growth trajectory. You'll have the chance to influence the finance team's development as the company expands. SME Environment: Enjoy working in a collaborative and dynamic environment where your contributions will make a real difference. Professional Development: With the company's continued expansion, you'll have plenty of opportunities for professional growth and career advancement. If you are an experienced Finance Manager with a solid understanding of Xero and SME operations, and you are ready to take on a role where you can truly impact a growing business, we would love to hear from you.
