Due to the upcoming retirement of our Finance Manager, after 26 years of being with The Wyvern, we have an exciting opportunity to join our wonderful Admin Support team. You will work closely with our School Business Leader in ensuring the school's finances are well looked after. Your key responsibilities would be: Assist SBL in maintaining and monitoring all budgets and presenting regular management reports to ensure efficient and effective control of income and expenditure. Ensure that the school complies with statutory requirements from the DfES, KCC, Governing Body, and other agencies. Prepare, implement, and reconcile all financial transactions relating to the school’s income and expenditure to ensure compliance with legal requirements and KCC Financial Regulations. Maintain the school’s accounting systems. Process orders and approve BACS payments ensuring correct financial control is applied. Reconcile and record funds received, including cash and online payments, chasing monies owed as and when required. Raise invoices for funds due, including additional pupil funding. Assist Parents with Bursary applications. Manage stocks of supplies and consumables, ensuring resources are readily available for lessons. Assist teaching staff with booking of school trips and Arbor online payments. Deal with VAT returns and liabilities. Support SBL in preparation for financial audits and all statutory returns. Be responsible for all day-to-day financial tasks. Ideally, you would have experience in working with finance in an educational setting, but we are able to support and train the right candidate with financial expertise outside of education.
