The role of Finance Manager involves assisting in the production of accurate and timely financial transactions and reports in addition to maintaining the business’s accounting records. The role will also involve providing support and direction to the rest of the finance team. The role will report directly to the Finance Director thereby assisting to drive the financial performance and position of the Division’s business and support the Managing Director in achieving the agreed business plan and sustainable, profitable growth. Principal accountabilities of the Finance Manager role include:
Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliations and management accounts Prepare monthly journals and account analysis Prepare divisional reporting returns (VAT, CIS, Payroll) Review and challenge proposed land acquisitions, including areas such as the financial assumptions and VAT Secondary divisional contact for divisional HR, payroll, IT and fleet issues Maintenance of KPI and analysis schedules Oversight on the maintenance of house sales ledger including monthly sales reconciliation Lead and manage the Divisional finance team Initial contact for Finance queries or problems Assist the Head of Finance/Finance Director to ensure compliance with the Group Accounting Manual Provide cover for various duties within the department Troubleshooting transactions and suggesting corrections Perform cost analysis Manage the interim and year end process with external auditors Treasury management – ensuring monthly and daily cash flow forecasts for the division are accurate The above list of accountabilities are not exclusive or exhaustive. Experience of working within a similar role will be preferred. Experience of working with accountancy software. Working knowledge of COINS is desirable. Qualifications and Training
