The purpose: Lead and manage Management Accounting activities in ABP's regions. Ensure effective and high-performing accounting processes in ABP's Finance Shared Services team in PBS. Focus on timely reporting, accurate financial information, and process standardisation. The ideal candidate should be a qualified accountant with leadership experience, responsible for managing a team and providing financial information to internal collaborators for informed business decisions. Excellent communication skills required, working closely with regional finance heads and business partners. Accountabilities:
Lead, motivate, develop, and support the management accountants and assistant management accountants. Produce timely, relevant, and accurate revenue and capital management accounts. Compile and review accurate cash flow forecasting and manage bank account reconciliations to improve the working capital management. Process timely transactional postings to ensure accuracy of general ledger. Produce timely, relevant, and accurate statutorily required half-year and full-year financial accounts. Responsible for the retention of documents and making available to internal and external audit as and when required. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of management accounts, financial accounts, and reconciliations. Manage resource allocation flexibly across the team to ensure efficient / effective resource utilisation. Set objectives for team members to work towards delivering and meeting performance critical metrics. Identify improvement opportunities and work as a team to standardise processes across the wider team and reduce duplication of effort or non-value add activities. Collaborate closely with the Finance Lead to find continuous Improvement opportunities and assist with other Finance-related tasks. Qualified accountant CIMA, ACCA, or ACA. Good communication (verbal and written) and inter-personal skills, ability to drive and lead change initiatives. Skills in planning and organising, decision making, negotiation and time management, analytical and problem-solving skills, proficient in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to forge strong working relationships with a diverse set of colleagues. Good working knowledge of using SAP or equivalent Financial Application package. Driven by process improvements and leading departmental change, strong customer service ethos. Ideally, a background of working in a shared service centre within the port industry. Additional Information:
