£60,000 per annum Role Overview: Charpak Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to join our Senior Management Team. This is an integral role within the company, where you will oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance while driving improvements in processes and performance. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Sage, Excel, and have a strong understanding of finance management in a manufacturing setting. As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the accounts function, including monthly reporting to the Board, month-end processes, payroll, VAT compliance, and overseeing various financial controls. Additionally, you will be tasked with ensuring the company’s financial strategies support operational efficiency and growth. Key Responsibilities: Lead the finance team and ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all financial operations. Prepare and present monthly management accounts, budgets, and financial reports to the Board, ensuring timely submission. Maintain accurate control account reconciliations on a monthly basis and manage cash flow forecasting and reporting. Oversee VAT compliance, including VAT returns and European Sales Reporting (ECSL), ensuring timely submission and accuracy. Manage intercompany reconciliations, fixed asset register, prepayments, accruals, and other related financial duties. Ensure the company is fully compliant with international financial regulations, including tax, duty, and VAT, particularly in Europe. Optimize expenditure, streamline financial processes, and improve cost efficiency across the business. Act as the primary point of contact for audits and support financial due diligence, particularly in investment decisions and acquisitions. Operational Oversight: Oversee operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with financial objectives and departmental goals. Collaborate with senior managers to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and manage supply chain and logistics costs effectively. Implement performance metrics to assess and drive improvements in operational processes. Work closely with the Managing Director to develop and execute the company’s strategic financial goals. Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, providing guidance and support as needed. Contribute to business growth by supporting international expansion strategies and cost analysis for new market opportunities. Key Requirements: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent). Proven experience in a senior finance role within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to optimize financial operations to support business growth and scalability. Strategic thinker with a practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement. Additional Information: Oversee payroll processes in collaboration with HR and Production teams. Manage financial reporting related to credit control, trade creditors insurance, and bank/cash management. Perform ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Managing Director to support business needs.
