Role Purpose

This is a great opportunity for an ambitious leader to gain experience in a dynamic multi-currency global business. The role is to oversee all month end close activities for the EMEA Divisional entity, which houses all our regional head office costs. The role should ensure internal controls and financial reporting are completed on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for this entity, as well as maintaining compliance with Group accounting policies, US GAAP and SOX requirements. Additionally, the role will lead process improvement initiatives for the entity and manage one accountant on the team. The Finance Manager will be the main point of contact for the entity and work in collaboration with Corporate, Regional and in-country teams, including but not limited to Controllership, FP&A, Business Finance, Tax, and liaise with functional leaders on their results rolling up into the regional head office costs (e.g. HR, IT, Legal, Compliance).

Key Responsibilities

Process payroll journals and confidential employee data

Perform EMEA div Bonus calculation and reconciliations

Management and oversight of the intercompany cross charges, confirmations and reconciliations

Invoice approvals

Annual transfer pricing calculations in cooperation with the FP&A team and invoicing of EMEA central costs

Overall management to the month end close activities for this entity

Review and sign-off balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries

Manage the Cadency system (BS reconciliation tool) for the EMEA div balance sheet reconciliations and close task management module

Review P&L and Balance sheets on a monthly basis as part of the month end close process

Presentation of monthly results and analysis to the EMEA Controller and other relevant stakeholders

Support the year end audit and SOX procedures

Calculating, managing and communicating allocation of costs to EMEA countries and other segments

Assist with monthly forecasting and submission for Global reporting purposes

Business partnering with People/HR, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Finance, D&T, Research and other teams

Provide guidance and direct management of the EMEA Div Financial Accountant

Assist and support global and regional projects impacting EMEA Div entity

Person Specification/Requirements

At least 2-3 years post qualified experienced accountant.

Self-motivated with strong work ethic.

Experience in implementing and working on process improvements.

Able to motivate a team and effectively manage people, including performance management

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage and prioritise critical deadlines.

Experienced excel user with knowledge of advanced excel formulas

US GAAP and SOX experience required.

Experience in using ERP and consolidation systems

Experience in monthly and quarterly SOX control procedures.

Experience in monitoring close issues and assisting with issue resolution.

Accurate and exceptional attention to detail. Methodical in approach.

Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with a range of stakeholders and accurately explain and report activity

Ability to interpret accounting policies and standards and effectively communicate this to key stakeholders.

Experience in ensuring compliance with accounting policies.

Ability to analyse financial information and communicate this to leaders

Able to make sound decisions when needed and take responsibility for outcomes.

Proactive and able to work autonomously and pitch in with other teams when required.

Ability to provide timely and accurate financial information.
