A small, yet reputable business based in Nelson is looking to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to join their team on a part-time or full-time basis. This business has built a strong reputation over the past 30 years, with 5 companies within the Group now reporting a turnover of £3Million.

Your new role

In your new role as Finance Manager, you would report directly to the MD and be responsible for all aspects of Finance, with the support of a Purchase Ledger assistant. The role is varied in skill set as you would produce the full bookkeeping for the companies but also the financial accounts in preparation for submission by the external accountants. Duties will include all transactional accounts including purchase ledger, sales ledger and cash book reconciliations, payroll processing and credit control. You will manage the companies' cash flow and ensure all relevant journal entries are produced to trial balance and prepare the monthly management accounts. Annually, you will work closely with the external accountants, preparing the annual accounts. This role would be based in office, working between 30-37.5 hours per week, depending on your preferences.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have experience of producing accounts to trial balance, producing management accounts and be comfortable dealing with all levels of finance including transactional accounts. As this is a small business, you will be expected to assist in other areas such as receiving incoming business phone calls. You will have strong bookkeeping skills, with the ability to use financial software. A good working knowledge of Excel will be essential.

What you'll get in return

In return for this, you will be offered a salary equating the full-time equivalent of £40,000 per annum. You will be offered a package including enhanced holidays, flexible working, free parking, pension contribution and free tea and coffee.
