I am working with a business in the Newark area that is looking for a Finance Manager to join their team on either a part-time or full-time basis. They can offer hybrid working and flexibility in hours. Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the company’s accounting functions to ensure effective financial control and compliance. Supervise and collaborate with the Accounts Clerk, who is responsible for maintaining financial records, updating Sage software, and monitoring day-to-day financial transactions. Provide financial planning and strategic advice to the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team. Develop financial targets and budgets that align with the strategic objectives set by the Board. Assist project teams and managers with budgeting, financial planning, and project financial reporting. Prepare timely management reports, including management accounts, cash flow forecasts, restricted project expenditure reports, and other ad-hoc financial information as required. Manage company policies related to capital requirements, debt management, taxation, equity, and insurance. Oversee the treasury function, ensuring effective management of cash flow and financial resources. Liaise with auditors for the preparation and review of the annual accounts. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to the company’s financial affairs. Foster a culture of financial best practices across all areas of the company, providing guidance and support to staff. Skills & Qualifications:

A qualified member of a recognised accountancy body or equivalent experience in finance management. Flexible, self-motivated, and able to work independently with a proactive, solution-oriented approach. Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both financial and non-financial stakeholders. Proven experience as a finance manager, with a solid understanding of financial processes and reporting. Experience in managing costs and income, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with small teams. Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with an ability to convey complex financial information clearly. Proficient in Sage accounting systems. Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in the financial management of the organization while supporting a wide range of activities from strategic financial planning to day-to-day operations.
