Department of Biology, 11a Mansfield Road, Oxford OX1 3SZ This is a strategic post within the Department of Biology. A large and internationally prominent department, Biology, has over 675 students and around 450 staff. The department, along with the Department of Experimental Psychology, is due to move into the new Life and Mind Building (LaMB) in 2025, the University’s largest-ever building project. You will manage the day-to-day finance processes, oversee all financial planning and reporting activities and develop key strategies. You will influence senior staff and academics on matters under your remit and oversee the implementation of several key financial initiatives to the successful financial management of the department. You will work closely with all members of the finance team, ensuring they are fully supported in their roles. You will have a demonstrable ability to inspire and lead a team, a high level of personal effectiveness and outstanding interpersonal skills. You will have proven technical finance skills and be capable of expert financial analysis and strategic planning. The ability to reflect on personal and team performance and learn from mistakes is essential. The University of Oxford is committed to equality and valuing diversity.
