Our client is a not-for-profit financial institution, whose goal is to give back to the local community by providing ethical finance to those in need. Established for over 20 years, they serve people who live or work in Sheffield and its surrounding areas. They're looking for a new Finance Manager with a high level of experience in a similar role within financial services to manage the finances of the organisation. This role will involve all aspects of financial management, including financial planning, bookkeeping, forecasting, reporting, and more. The successful candidate will become a member of the senior leadership team and have the opportunity to make a real, tangible difference to an ethical nonprofit organisation. The ideal candidate would be somebody who has 5+ years' experience of managing the finances of an organisation, would be confident in doing all of the listed tasks below, and who has experience in financial services institutions. Day-to-day responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with organisational goals Collaborate with the CEO and senior management team to inform and develop long-term financial strategies Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making, identifying areas for cost savings and revenue growth Prepare financial reports, including variance analysis, cash flow projections, and performance metrics Ensure adherence to financial regulations and statutory requirements, including FCA and PRA regulations Prepare for and manage annual audits, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely and accurate completion Implement internal controls and financial policies to mitigate risk and ensure operational efficiency Manage cash flow to ensure sufficient funds for operations and maintain liquidity Oversee investment activities and advise the senior team on prudent investment options that align with the organisation's mission Monitor interest rate risk and make recommendations on adjustments as necessary Prepare regular financial reports for the board, CEO, and other stakeholders, providing clear and concise information on financial performance Present financial updates and analysis to the board and relevant committees Manage relationships with external partners, including banks, investment advisors, and regulatory bodies Line manage 2x members of staff - 1x finance and 1x compliance Why would you want this role?

Essential

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance role Experience with financial planning, analysis, and budgeting Financial services industry experience Strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and regulations Proficient in financial software and tools, such as Excel, Sage, or similar accounting systems Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights Knowledge of cash flow management and investment principles Strong attention to detail Desirable

Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Experience in a finance role within the financial services sector Familiarity with regulatory requirements for financial services (e.g., FCA, PRA) Previous experience in regulated financial institution is highly desirable Line management experience Nice-to-have
