progress their career to make a significant contribution to the continued growth and success of the Company.


Purpose

Operating within the Financial Accounting Team, the Finance Officer will support the day-to-day accounting operations of the Company to ensure the maintenance of accurate financial records.


Description of Main Duties and Responsibilities


  • General ledger, sales ledger and purchase ledger postings, reconciliation, and control including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory accounting, fixed assets, and revenue recognition.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of balance sheet, control and intercompany accounts including a review of accruals and prepayments.
  • Ensure income is accurately recorded by the Company’s pre-wholesaler and allocated to the respective revenue streams.
  • Daily bank reconciliation.
  • Preparation of payments within the Company’s corporate banking and digital payment systems.
  • Preparation of monthly client sales and inventory reconciliation reports.
  • Assist with the production of quarterly VAT Returns including Postponed VAT on imports.
  • Provide accurate and timely information for management accounts.
  • Process employee expenses.
  • Monitor the Finance email inbox.
  • Assist with the preparation of external financial audit packs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new tools, technologies, or procedures to improve financial workflows
  • Assist with the management of the Company’s finance and liquidity management facilities.
  • Assist the Head of Financial Accounting and Finance Manager(s) with ad hoc tasks and projects.


Knowledge / Skills / Attributes Required


  • An ambitious self-starter with experience working within a Finance department.
  • Ability to think laterally and anticipate issues and opportunities both internally and with clients/partners.
  • Strong reconciliation skills and understanding that attention to detail is vital.
  • Experienced in compiling and reconciling VAT Returns including postponed VAT.
  • Import / Export experience.
  • Intercompany experience is desirable.
  • Strong systems skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Ensures positive, productive, and proactive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-driven, takes ownership and demonstrates high levels of personal accountability.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, challenging, entrepreneurial and team-oriented environment.
  • Motivated to deliver a high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organised with an ability to multitask and prioritise daily workload to meet tight deadlines.
