What is the job?

If so, you could be the right person to be our new Financial Accountant (1-year FTC) here at Cineworld. You will support our Financial Controller & the wider UK Finance team on finance transformation projects, which will have a lasting impact on the company.
You will step into the hugely talented UK Finance Team of 19 people and Tax Team, collaborating with them to put your knowledge and skills to the test to improve processes, speed up the close process and present results for audit and management reporting purposes.
What will you be doing?
Working closely with the UK Financial Controller, the second Financial Accountant, and the wider UK Finance team to assist with the delivery and review of financial information, including monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and budgets.
Identifying opportunities to make efficiencies, speed up the close process, and improve the control environment.
Creating a strong relationship with the audit team, acting as a key contact in managing the process, responding to key audit matters in a timely manner, and delivering key audit workpapers.
Delivering general management accounting responsibilities such as preparing accounts, reviewing smaller subsidiaries' monthly trial balances, and creating reporting packs to help the Group Finance team and strategic leadership make business decisions.
Having a knowledge of processing journals and a good understanding of IFRS accounting, while also supporting the Tax team with tax returns by preparing the tax numbers and returns for them to review.
About you
1-2 years of PQE; either the ACA (ICAEW), ACCA, or CIMA is suitable.
Experience working in the ‘Audit’ remit, whether that is for an Audit company or partnering with a 3rd party Audit business in your role.
Enjoy working in a team environment where people actively support each other and pick up ad hoc tasks when needed.
Able to undertake wide-ranging work from administration tasks that help keep the business moving, through to technically challenging work that will guide senior leadership with their strategic decision-making aimed at driving the business forwards.
