Financial Accountant 12 month contract - Filton - 40.00 per hour Umbrella (1 day WFH p.w.) Role Overview: A new company is being established to acquire the trade and assets of a key supplier, with an anticipated turnover of approximately 400m. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial information relied upon by numerous stakeholders. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team operating across multiple sites, collaborating closely with the accounting teams of related entities to deliver efficient and accurate financial reporting. A deep understanding of the business's activities is essential to identify potential issues and mitigate data inaccuracies effectively. Responsibilities: Pre-deal closing responsibilities: Setting up lead ledgers in SAP (P11). Assisting with due diligence on the opening balance sheet. Loading assets into SAP with accurate data attributes. Defining and documenting key financial processes and controls. Ensuring internal controls align with enterprise risk management (ERM) requirements. Post-deal closing responsibilities: The role will focus on the "on time, on quality" delivery of the monthly consolidation package and annual statutory accounts. Key tasks include: Applying IFRS in line with group accounting policies. Oversight of key internal controls and reporting risks and opportunities through the ERM framework. Continuously reviewing processes and procedures to implement improvements. Analyzing data trends using a strong understanding of business operations. Applying UK GAAP to produce statutory accounts. Contributing to internal and external audits. Coordinating inputs and deliverables with the shared service center. Providing information to the Tax team to support tax computations. Skill Set: Essential: Qualified Accountant with experience in an accounting team. Strong understanding of IFRS and UK GAAP reporting requirements. Proficiency with SAP or equivalent financial reporting tools. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment with a proactive and positive mindset. Strong communication skills to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders across different levels and regions. A continuous improvement mindset.
