Vacancy Title: Financial Accountant Vacancy Location: Glasgow Engagement Type: Permanent; Full Time The Role: Here at Survitec, we are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join our Beaufort division in Glasgow. Key responsibilities for the Financial Accountant role include but are not limited to: Track progress against budgets within established finance systems and report variances, ensuring compliance with local market financial laws and regulations. Implement the global Survitec control framework and drive the effective development and maintenance of financial controls. Independently collate and analyse financial data using standard accounting methodologies, tools, and formats for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Prepare key financial documents, including statutory accounts, monthly reporting, budgeting, reforecast processes, and management accounts packs with commentary and analysis. Participate in the monthly accounting cycle, including the coordination of the month-end process and associated Board reports. Ensure the business meets its statutory and compliance obligations, including statutory accounting and tax issues, ensuring accurate accounting records for local entities. Provide support and advice to others in the team to enhance data management systems. Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers regarding complex processes and policies. Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations and good financial practices. Lead, coach, and develop an engaged finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and continuous improvement. Identify and address instances of non-compliance with Survitec’s policies and procedures. You will have the opportunity to develop in your role and feel proud of the work you do. About You: Essential criteria: Educated to High School / Further Education College level with 2 A Levels. General experience in accounting, with the ability to work independently. Experience of coordinating the work of others is advantageous. Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles. Proficient in financial data analysis and reporting using accounting systems and tools. Ability to solve problems with complex, high-quantity data. Strong communication skills, with the ability to deliver multi-mode communications to different audiences. Experience with budgeting, reforecasting, and financial reporting processes. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
